Reach is decided by an algorithm that changes without notice. Layout is decided by the platform. Which of your posts a customer sees is decided for you. And if the account is ever restricted — which happens for reasons that are often unexplained — your entire business presence disappears at once.

None of that is a criticism of the platform. It is simply what renting means.

What search actually does with a Facebook page

Someone searching for your service on Google rarely lands on a business page. They land on directories, competitors, and sites built for that search. The page ranks for your business name — which only helps people who already know you exist.

That is the real gap. The page serves people who already found you. A website is what finds new ones.

• A website is found by someone actively looking to buy
• Search intent converts far better than passive scrolling

When the page is genuinely enough

If you are fully booked from word of mouth, if all your customers come from one neighbourhood that already knows you, or if you are testing whether a business idea works at all — then no, you do not need a site yet. Spend the money when there is something to scale.
